From Thought to Action

A Very Small Seed

Having encountered cancer in her family, a large number of women with breast cancer, Lucie Blue Tremblay decided to pay attention and do her Self Breast Exam (SBE) on a regular basis.  However, as she attempted her exam she realized that she was apprehensive, not wanting to find anything, which lead to a rather quick SBE.  With this in mind, Lucie Blue used her gift and wrote music to relax to while doing the SBE.

Once recorded, she thought about how simple it would be to sing the directive to the BSE in order to keep doing the exam with the same steps from one month to another.  Using the exact steps would lead to noticing any changes.  Once this seed was planted, the idea of having a visual recording of various women doing their breast exam to the musical directive and filming breasts of different sizes and shapes and colors and ages to demystify the entire process was developed.

After spending the first four months of 2005 supporting her sister through chemotherapy, Lucie has witnessed the courage of her sister and so many men and women on a weekly basis. Her thoughts: "You don't have to be diagnosed with cancer to help fight cancer."

 The Chopper

The Breast Cancer Awareness Chopper

This beautiful "one of a kind" Breast Cancer Awareness Chopper was built by Wicked Women Choppers in Herrin IL.  The chopper will be used as one of our fundraising tools.

We envision the funds raised from this project to go towards producing, promoting and manufacturing the BEP.

We will tour with the chopper to various RV gatherings and exhibitions,  women's gatherings, Breast Cancer Walks, the LPGA Tour, Women*s College Basketball & Final Four, WNBA games, Women's Music Events & Festivals, and Canadian and American Folk Music Festivals.

We also plan to organize and participate in motorcycle rallies when we can and end at college campuses to raise awareness with young men and women whenever possible.  As soon as the DVD is available, we will give them away at the previously mentioned events.  The project will also be available as a download on this website.

The Motor Coach

The Breast Cancer Awareness Motor Coach

The motor coach has  the names of women whose lives are celebrated by supporters of the project and by the names and logos of our sponsors.  The motor home says in big letters on the back "Have you done your breast exam this month?" in English., Spanish. and French.

To find out how you can celebrate someone by having his or her name on the coach, or to help keep us on the road, just click here  on "support"and you will be taken to our support page.

And last but not least, " Have you had your Breast Exam this month?" will be printed on the motor coach with our logo on the back.  As we travel we will be reminding people who encounter the motor coach on the highway to do their self-breast exam monthly.
