Patricia Odom and Lucie Blue Tremblay in San Diego CA posing for a photograph by the motor coach

A note from Patricia Odom

Hello,  I thought I would introduce myself.  My name is Pat Odom and I'm from Austin Texas.  I think it's good to let you know who we are and why we are doing what we are doing.  I am a retired special education teacher of 32 years.

I have an appreciation for the multisensory delivery of the dvd for all people including those with disabilities.  When this project was presented to me, I knew this was a unique approach to breast cancer awareness and early detection.  I was also aware of the tremendous talent and passion, breathing life to this project by Lucie Blue Tremblay.  It didn't take much for me to come out of retirement and lend my time to this endeavor.

A note from Lucie Blue

My name is Lucie Blue Tremblay and I'm from Montreal Quebec. I have been performing in the US and Canada since 1984.  I am indeed a road warrior; however, this project has given it a new meaning.  You could say we are at war with breast cancer and take every opportunity to spread breast cancer awareness wherever we go.  I have the  unique opportunity of performing and taking this beautiful breast cancer awareness chopper on the roads of the United States and Canada.  Whether we are waiting for a ferry in Vermont or Vancouver Island or whether we are purchasing office supplies, we take every opportunity to show the chopper and raise awareness on our travels.

You wonder why I am so involved with this project. All I can tell you is that many times in my life, I have wanted to send a check to an organization or get involved, knowing that I could never personally make a difference any other way.  At this time in my life, with the blessing of being healthy, I feel I can make a difference thanks to my art and my passion.

I sat with my sister as she was doing her chemo, held her in my arms after surgery and promised that I would somehow use my life to make a difference in people's lives.  I also had the honor of playing and getting to know a very special woman and songwriter, Rachel Bissex who lost her battle to breast cancer early this year.  She was from Burlington.  I am hoping that for now this is the little bit that I can do to celebrate her courage and life as well the men and women who battle cancer everyday.

There are ways that you can help as well. You can share this web site with the media, help us get more press,  invite us to exhibit the chopper at an event or just talk about the project and share the web site with people you know.  Every little bit helps.  Consider the non-profit organization as a possible tax donation as we get closer to the end of the year.  We believe the making of this DVD will make a difference.

If you would like to produce an event please conctact us.  In addition, if you have any contacts to bring a local mammogram unit offering free mammograms you, too, could be doing something incredible for your community.

It's actually all possible.  Just go for it!
